The Mystery Business

Something strange is going on in this old mansion and you’re going to get to the bottom of it. You’re in the Mystery Business and no spooky ghost is going to stop you from solving this mystery. You climb the stairs toward the dark attic space, cobwebs catching in your hair as you climb, and just as you reach the top... Yikes!!! A GHOST!!

The Mystery Business is a mystery solving RPG about a group of friends and their unusual companion who always seem to find themselves in scary situations. You are one of a group of mystery solvers who travel around exposing fake monsters and ending nefarious schemes; although sometimes the monsters turn out to be very real. You’ll need to find clues and run away from the monster until you think you know enough to lay a trap and solve the mystery.

The Mystery Business plays quick and is a great way to jump into TTRPGs for the first time. Players new to TTRPG will find the game easy to understand.

  • Built on a d100 dice system.
  • Difficulties are listed on the character sheet so everyone know what they are good at.
  • No combat!
  • Make wild traps to catch the monsters that are only limited by your imagination.

The Mystery Business takes inspiration from those great Saturday morning cartoons and focuses on finding clues and unmasking that crafty villain. All you need is 3-6 players, a pair of ten-sided dice, and a few hours to play.

So hop in the van, gang, cuz there are mysteries to solve!

Awesome game!  This 100% captured the Saturday morning mysteries vibe, and I loved how each PC was built to match a particular archetype.  I have a full review on TTRPGkids, and I had a lot of fun checking out The Mystery Business!
